Successful Unions, Inc. Counseling centers believes that every child can learn. The Governor of the state of Florida has created "The No Child Left Behind" policy. To implement this policy the Florida Comprehensive Achievement Test was established to evaluate all students. Many capable students fail FCAT, ACT, SAT and other exams not because they lack the knowledge but because they experience test anxiety. To meet this need Successful Unions, Inc.
The Counseling Centers has created a six session training course to help students to overcome this deficiency. We believe that children learn best in small groups. Each group will consist of no more than six students. Each session will last for approximately one hour. During each session stress reduction exercises will be practiced to prepare the student mentally and unblock their minds so that they may utilize the materials, which they have learned but cannot retrieve.
We believe that through small groups at various age levels we can help students to achieve success in the classroom, SAT, ACT, and FCAT examinations. During the six sessions students will be taught relaxation techniques, goal setting, problem solving, approaches to test taking confronting and handling test anxiety, mental preparation for exams and unblocking their accumulated information blocks.
